Implementation Plan

1. Facilitator
The facilitator is going to be the Classrooms for the Future coach, Marge Runkle, and the other technology staff at YCST including Marty Ness and Terry Zortman. These individuals have been selected because of their background with not only technology, but technology integration into the classroom. Mr. Ness is the computer lab assistant and Mr. Zortman is the technology coordinator. They would be used because of their expertise in the classroom with the necessary technologies for this series of trainings.

2. Expectations of the Facilitators
The facilitators will need to know their audience and the levels at which the audience will be comfortable working. The trainees will be grouped according to the results of a pre-test and survey that was conducted within the school. The survey results determined which level of skill and knowledge each teacher will be grouped with.

3. Preparing the Facility
The facility will be the computer labs in the media center that will accommodate about 30 people equipped with a projector and Promethean software (Activstudio Professional Edition V3), and an Activboard. These computers will be windows based computers as opposed to Macs.

4. Content Summary
The trainees will have to attend a two-day training at some point throughout the school year with the first day covering identification of all instructional technologies available to them as well as utilization of the interactive whiteboard (Promethean) to create meaningful and engaging lessons in the classroom. The second day would cover producing professional documents such as word processing, graphing, presentation and desktop publishing and performing an effective Internet search to identify the validity of the website. The slice to be covered in this implementation document would be Day 1: Identification of all instructional technologies and utilization of the interactive whiteboard.

5. Resources
Each participant will have access to the computer tutorials located on the Atomic Learning website. In addition, we will use several handouts that list the instructional technologies at the York County School of Technology and how to access them. The resources are several Promethean presentations that were created using the techniques to be learned in this lesson. These presentations can be of any subject matter and will most likely be borrowed from fellow staff members of the school district who are using this technology effectively in the classroom. Also included will be several tutorials from the website www.atomiclearning.com.

6. Evaluation
The trainees will be asked to replicate the techniques shown in the lesson as they are learning them that day in the media center. They will be asked to show how to add text, edit text, and use the recognition tool and everything else that was in the topics to be covered section. The training will be considered successful if the trainees can successfully replicate all the techniques shown in the lesson. This would be measured by watching the trainees demonstrate the concepts during class and seeing if they implement these techniques into their training. This observation of the trainees would take place within two weeks of the day one.
